Giving Back to Children with Cancer
|
I am writing to you because we are so proud of our daughter Megan. When Megan was 13 years old she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (a blood cancer). Megan has incredible faith and strength and when life threw her these lemons, she didnt even make lemonade, she took these lemons and through them right back. She took the opportunity and during her tough 1 year of chemo treatment, blood transfusions, loss of hair, etc.,she took note and in 2005, as soon as she finished her treatment, she founded Megan's Angel Wings (www.megansangelwings.org). Megan dedicates her life to helping other children undergoing treatment for cancer and their families. Megan's Angel Wings sends care packages to patients, full of all their favorite things, delivers hand made bandanas to the patients loosing their hair, delivers hand made quilts for the children to have in their hospital beds and has granted some beautiful wishes, including concert tickets and Meet and Greet the Jonas Brothers.
We are so proud of our daughter Megan and her wonderful heart. She inspires us and many to realize how Blessed we all are and how now at 19 she already knows what her purpose in life is.
Thank you for this opportunity,
Rudy and Maggie (Megan's Blessed parents)
